I never thought I’d do that …

Before I had child, I thought I had a clear idea of what maternity was. I imagined how  I kissed them on their foreheads for good night, how we were lying in bed while reading fairy tales, how we tickled and laughed, how we enjoyed family dinners and more similar stuffs.  Of course ,they would cry ,but this is a child after all ,but I would know how to calm my children, right?

All right, well, I know you laugh at me. I’m sure we all know what happens to such fantasies when you really become a mother. When reality comfortably fits into your fantasies and when you realize that this is not exactly the reality. At that moment, you realize that you do things everyday ,who you did not even think you would ever do. Things that made me laugh before, and now I do so often … For example:

Removal of snots. You must have never imagined that you would put a finger to someone else’s nose, but sometimes you just have to! 

Have you ever imagined that you will eat the remains of foreign food? Maybe not. Well ,now, as a mother, you will have to eat biting sandwiches, cold chicken wings, and other such delicacies that are to blame for the gain weight.

Spending all your money for someone else. Before the kids all your money was for you. Yes, you had to pay bills, but you were generally free to spend your money. And now all your savings go to the kids. Finally, you wear the same clothes, and they are walking in fashionable clothes that they do not even appreciate.

To think for the waking up at 7 in the morning as a very long sleep. Do you remember that before 7 o’clock in the morning was too early to wake up? Do you remember the time when little impatient kids did not wake you up early in the morning? When you become a mother, waking up after sunrise is a miracle. Something like winning the lottery.

Yes, being a parent is wonderful, but it also includes many things you never imagined that you would do. To do everything listed here is quite tiresome and … something quite normal, something without which you no longer imagine life. Because all these things are manifestations of big love.
